The Alien Realm

The Alien Realm

The Alien Realm

ALIEN REALM
TIMELESS

A swirling vortex of iridescent mist and pulsing light.

No ground, no sky—just infinite space filled with shifting

geometric patterns that breathe like living tissue.

JUBA floats suspended in the centre, his body limp, arms

outstretched.

His eyes are wide open but rolled back, showing only white.

Tendrils of golden energy snake around his limbs.

His chest rises and falls in rapid, shallow breaths.

Blake blinks, disoriented by the sudden daytime change.

The sea shimmers like quicksilver as though smothered by a

giant sheet of glass.

Blake reacts to a SCREAM, faces its direction and looks

toward the now flat, stilled Mad Water Delta.

Below, he sees Feelgood with his mob.

Juba is with them.

No Sarah.

Frustrated, he paces around the dome.

Danny kneels in front of him.

Blake watches as the boy squints into the eyepiece of the

telescope.

DANNY

(screaming, pointing)

Blake! Someone's in the water.

There!

Blake adjusts the focus.

Kneels, peers into the glass toward the delta.

He spots a disturbance.

He pans his vision further up, swivels the scope.

There it is again – white and moving toward the nearest

mangrove beach.

71.

BLAKE

(whispering)

Sarah...

He lifts his eyes to get better perspective, to gauge the

true distance between Sarah and the beach.

Again he squints into the eyepiece.

He stops in horror when he sees a sinister shape resting

behind the bank.

The croc moves slightly.

Blake takes Danny by the shoulders, faces him away.

BLAKE (CONT'D)

Hey, Danny. I'm taking you down to

Feelgood. Maybe you can see Juba,

okay?

The boy visibly brightens.

As Danny mounts the steps to go down, Blake picks up the

spear Juba had given Danny.

He looks out one more time.

Sarah is moving fast.

Too fast.

The croc remains still but has slipped closer to the water's

edge.

Blake races down the steps.

CHAPTER 18 - TAKEN - IMAGE - DESCENT.

MAD WATER DELTA AREA – DAY

Blake takes Danny to Juba and rushes off holding the spear

Juba gave him.

DANNY

(to himself)

The spear? Something's up.

DANNY (CONT'D)

(whispering)

Hey, Juba. What're you doing?

You're scaring me.

Wake up.

72.

Juba seems not to hear.

Danny shakes him again.

This time, Juba's eyes snap open, stare.

Danny recoils.

DANNY (CONT'D)

(nervously, with small

laugh)

It's me. Danny.

Still a confused look on Juba's face.

He stands up, shakes his head, presses his hands to his ears.

When Danny tries again to communicate, Juba shrugs him off.

CLOSE-UP - JUBA'S FACE

His pupils dilate and contract rapidly.

Behind his eyelids, we see flashes of light—brief,

stroboscopic bursts.

A low, harmonic HUM fills the space, building in intensity.

The geometric patterns pulse in rhythm with the sound.

Juba's fingers begin to twitch.

His mouth opens in a silent scream.

The golden energy tendrils suddenly flare brighter.

They pierce into Juba's temples, chest, and palms.

His body convulses.

Lightning-fast MONTAGE of images flash across the screen:

- Star systems being born

- Ancient civilizations rising and falling

- DNA helixes unraveling and reforming

- Earth from space, continents shifting

Juba's body arches backward, every muscle taut.

A brilliant white light engulfs him.

73.

The THRUM reaches a crescendo, then—The alien realm DISSOLVES

like water colors in rain.

LIGHTHOUSE DOME
DAY

Juba's eyes snap open.

He's sitting on the ground, his clothes torn and singed.

Thunder RUMBLES overhead.

He gasps, sucking in air like a drowning man.

His hands shake uncontrollably as he touches his face, his

chest.

He curls into a foetal position and begins to sob—deep,

wrenching cries that mix with the howling wind.

LIGHTHOUSE DOME – DAY

Seconds after the mirage vanished, daylight snaps into place.

DANNY

(angry)

Speak to me!

But BUDYA has quietly come to them, places her arm about

Juba.

BUDYA

(calmly)

Don't be angry, Danny. He doesn't

mean it. He's not with us and you

must be patient with him.

DANNY

I don't get it.

BUDYA

(croaking)

His spirit has been taken. He must

return to the cave to rest.

With that, Danny watches helplessly as they go.

Then he hears whining, looks down to see Drummer.

He squats, hugs the animal.

After a while, he wanders back to the lighthouse.

74.

CHAPTER 19 - TREASURES - IMAGE - CHEST.

LIGHTHOUSE DOME
EVENING

Danny sits in the big chair, Drummer on his lap.

DANNY

(to the dog)

Maybe Blake could be like a dad? He

makes me feel safe.

DANNY (CONT'D)

(whispers to himself)

I've taken my mum for granted.

His shoulders tremble. At first it’s just one tear — then a

flood.

He buries his face in Drummer’s fur.

Soon it subsides.

He approaches the trunk he found earlier.

It's handmade wood, reinforced with flattened tin cans and

brass tacks.

Danny dusts the top, revealing a painted sailing ship

surrounded by gold leaf.

Two faces are entwined at the top.

DANNY (CONT'D)

(whispering)

Could it be them?

He notices waxed string protruding from a crack - like a

candle wick.

An idea strikes him.

He finds matches in the desk drawer, strikes one, and touches

it to the wick.

The flame traces the seam like a whisper.

Moments later — SNAP — the lid pops open.

Danny peers in. An envelope rests on a folded Union Jack

flag.

75.

DANNY (CONT'D)

(to Drummer)

Oopsy. Someone else's mail.

He sets the envelope aside and peels back the flag.

His eyes widen at old photographs - the same faces from the

painting.

A man building the lighthouse, a woman beside him, both young

and hopeful.

Danny picks up the envelope. In faded ink: "For Blake - When

you're ready to come home."

DANNY (CONT'D)

(awed whisper)

It's his family.

He hears footsteps on the stairs.

DANNY (CONT'D)

(to Drummer, hushed)

Don’t tell anyone I cried, alright?

CHAPTER 20 - FRANTIC - IMAGE - FRANTIC.

MAD WATER DELTA – DAY

Sarah has no control of the ripping current.

The flash flood carries her into deeper waters.

A swirling mass spins her around.

She fights to stay afloat.

Debris tumbles past - tree branches, roofing iron, a wooden

crate.

She lunges for the crate, grabs hold. It's waterlogged but

buoyant enough.

Using it as a float, she starts kicking toward the nearest

shore.

SARAH

(breathless, determined)

I'm coming, Danny. I'm coming.

The current fights her, she makes progress.

The muddy bank grows closer.

76.

Then the water goes still.

A set of massive teeth in a ridged, pink mouth YAWNS open

beside her.

The crocodile strikes with the power of a tugboat.

Sarah screams as jaws clamp down on the wooden crate,

splintering it.

She lets go, swims frantically away.

The croc shakes the wooden debris like a dog with a toy, then

discards it.

Sinks back down.

Waiting.

Sarah treads water, spinning in circles, trying to see

beneath the murky surface.

A SHOUT echoes across the water.

SARAH (CONT'D)

Blake!

BLAKE

(from the shore)

Don't move! Stay where you are!

He reaches the water's edge.

Lunges in with Juba's spear.

Sarah watches him swimming toward her. His strong strokes cut

through the water.

Movement to her left.

The crocodile is circling back.

SARAH

(screaming)

Blake! It's coming back!

The creature changes course, heading straight for Blake.

Sarah doesn't think. She splashes toward the croc, yelling.

SARAH (CONT'D)

Here! Over here!

The crocodile hesitates, confused by two targets.

77.

That moment of confusion is all Blake needs.

MAD WATER DELTA
UNDERWATER – CONTINUOUS

Blake dives deep, following the shadow of the massive

reptile.

He opens his stinging eyes underwater, sees the creature's

pale belly as it turns.

The croc spots him, opens its jaws wide.

Blake plants his feet on the muddy bottom, braces the spear.

The crocodile's own momentum drives the barbed point deep

into its throat.

It thrashes wildly, trying to dislodge the weapon, but the

barbs hold firm.

Blood clouds the water.

Blake kicks away from the dying beast, lungs burning.

Then he sees something else moving through the murky water.

A shadow. Fluid. Unnatural.

Not swimming - flowing like liquid darkness.

The Kutji spirit has been drawn by the violence.

Blake watches in horrified fascination as the shadow engulfs

the wounded crocodile.

The massive reptile simply... dissolves. Flesh peeling away

in dark ribbons.

In seconds, nothing remains but scattered bones and the

ancient spirit, sated.

Blake's lungs scream for air.

He kicks toward the surface.

MAD WATER DELTA
SURFACE – CONTINUOUS

Blake explodes from the water, gasping.

Sarah floats nearby, eyes wide with terror.

78.

SARAH

What happened down there? The

water... it turned black.

BLAKE

(breathing hard)

Something else. Something old and

hungry by the looks of it.

He slips an arm around her waist.

BLAKE (CONT'D)

Can you kick?

SARAH

I think so.

Together, they swim toward shore.

MUDDY SHORELINE
CONTINUOUS

Blake helps Sarah from the water, both of them shaking,

covered in mud.

She collapses on the bank, coughing.

Blake kneels beside her, checks her over with practiced

efficiency.

BLAKE

Talk to me. Are you hurt?

SARAH

(hoarse)

My ankle. The croc got my boot

but...

Blake carefully removes her boot. Her foot is bruised, the

leather torn, but no puncture wounds.

BLAKE

Wiggle your toes.

Her painted toenails move. She winces but manages it.

BLAKE (CONT'D)

(relieved)

You're lucky. Very lucky.

SARAH

(looking back at the

water)

79.

SARAH (CONT'D)

What was that bloody thing? Down

there?

BLAKE

(hesitating)

I don't know. But I think it's

connected to everything else that's

happening.

He helps her stand. She favors the injured ankle but can

walk.

SARAH

Blake, I was trying to get a phone

signal. To call for help. I saw

that bloody alien thing again.

BLAKE

(understanding)

It's getting more weird by the

hour.

She takes his hand, draws him close.

SARAH

(voice shaking)

I thought I was going to die down

there. All I could think about was

Danny. Leaving him alone.

BLAKE

(stroking her face)

But you didn't. You fought. You

survived.

SARAH

Because you came for me.

BLAKE

I'll always come for you. Both of

you.

She looks into his kind eyes.

SARAH

(softly)

I believe you might.

They hold each other as the storm clouds gather overhead.

SARAH (CONT'D)

We should get back. Danny'll be

going mental.

80.

BLAKE

(looking at the darkening

sky)

Yeah. And I think the real storm's

just beginning.

Together, they head back toward the lighthouse as rain begin

to pelt.
